How to hide a partition in windows using command prompt

This article is all about how to hide a partition in windows by  using the command prompt. By using this method you can hide a partition and secure all your personal data from anyone. This process is also useful for company workers because many of the peoples have bad habit of using others computers without taking permissions of the owner

of the system. It can be an effective way of preventing access to the drive’s content. If you are a system admin, you might want to hide the drive containing recovery tools on each computer on the network. By this trick you can also give surprise to your friends by hiding a partition in your windows operating system. So let’s start here.

Follow these given below steps to hide a partition in windows.

Step 1: – First of all open your command prompt by using Windows key+R. By pressing these keys new options will be displayed on your screen then choose command prompt (Admin) option from the right side to open the command prompt as admin.

Step 2: – After that type diskpart command in command prompt and press enter to access all control of your hard disk on your command prompt.

Step 3: – After that type list disk command in command prompt and press enter to show all disks list which is connected to your system at that time. It will also show your pen drive/ USB drive in list disk if your USB drive/ pen drive is connected to your system at that time.

Step 4: – After that type select disk 0 command in command prompt and press enter to select a disk in which you want to hide a partition on your system (Here you can change 0 from your disk number which you want to hide)

Step 5: – After that type list volume command in command prompt and press to see all the partitions on your disk which is selected by you in the previous step.

Step 6: – After that type select volume 0 command in command prompt and press enter it helps you to select a partition which you want to hide from your selected disk.(Here write your volume number instead of 0 which partition you want to hide on your disk. like i choose 0 because i want to hide volume number 0 from my disk)

Step 7: – After that you saw that a letter will also be assigned in front of the volume number so now we type remove letter D command in command prompt and press enter to hide a partition on your windows operating system. (Here you can write your assigned letter instead of D then proceed) As the figure is shown below

Step 8: – After that type exit in command prompt and then press enter to complete this process always remember that you should always type at the end of process to prevent yourself from any type of error.

Now your partition will be hidden from your screen it will not be displayed on your screen. To check that process is worked on your system or not than double click on This PC icon and saw there your partition will be not shown there.
